About Us
Saltrock Dairy is a family-run farm situated on Tara Hill, County Wexford, Ireland. Our goal is simple: to provide high-quality, locally-sourced dairy products that emphasize sustainability and ethical practices. The cows at Saltrock Dairy graze on grass-fed pastures near the Irish Sea, producing some of the purest, most authentic dairy products available. We believe in the power of small-scale, sustainable farming, and our commitment to quality is central to everything we do.
Our farm offers two core products: fresh, pasteurized milk and handmade farmhouse butter. Our milk is non-homogenized, ensuring that it retains its natural, creamy consistency, and unlike supermarket milk, it is produced and processed on-site, drastically reducing carbon emissions and ensuring freshness. The result is a product that is not only delicious but also high in protein, low in fat, and especially known for being gut-friendly.
Our farmhouse butter, crafted from locally sourced cream, is handmade using traditional methods. We separate the cream, add live cultures, then churn, wash, and salt the butter—all by hand. This process ensures that the butter is rich in flavor and has a creamy, indulgent taste that our customers adore.
Sustainability is woven into every part of our business, from the packaging of milk in reusable glass bottles to our butter’s home-compostable packaging. We strive to minimize waste and carbon emissions, promoting a circular economy. Our commitment to sustainable farming, local sourcing, and ethical practices sets us apart from mass-produced dairy products and contributes to the well-being of our community and environment.
Saltrock Dairy’s long-term vision is to expand the reach of our products, becoming a national advocate for locally-produced, sustainable food. We believe small, community-focused farms like ours can play a significant role in both the local economy and the global push for more sustainable food production.
